Bring it home Sylvia!

Bring it home Sylvia!
This never fails to cover me with goose-bumped flesh.

I adore this poem.

I think all women do.

There is something darkly profound in the way she is able to speak for all of us here. This is how it is for the woman. We both love and hate our fathers, want his respect and want to rebel against his dominating prescence.

In short, we want to beat him too. Just like our brothers do. We want a mother we can own – like he owns ours – and we want the dark secret peace of having vanquished any threat.

Thank you Sylvia.
